I don't know about your cable connection but some have a slow upload speed (old
cable equipment) compared to the download speed. If that is the case then it
will depend on what else is being sent (uploaded) at the same time. Since the
cable is shared by many other people you have no control over the cable loop
load. But in all cases the voice traffic is sent as packets over tcp/ip and is
subject to various delays both ways and the delays may not be equal each way.
