Behind the router is what they write up in their instructions. I didn't care for that so I
discussed it with Vonage tech help and was told it should work OK ahead of the router. It did and so
did SeaMonkey and so did the Python programs I wrote to fetch and parse web pages. So all was well
with the world -- until I came to sendmail.

I suspect I'll have to put it behind the router. The only thing I'm concerned with is security. I
know enough to be conscience of it but don't know enough to know how bad or well off I am.

PS I had a special case so getting Vonage set up was a real (I mean REAL) big mess. There were no
equipment problems just Vonage business methods that were the impediment. But after the dust
settled and I got over wasting 3 months of my life all of their screw ups saved me $40 and gave me
more functionality. I'm very happy with the service even though at times someone I call says "I'm
all broken up" whereas I can hear them as clear as can be. It's one of life's mysteries.
