Note to Steve Schiffman:

You correctly identified the mechanism by which this
happens, during the last meeting. However, it just
happened again, only *partially.* This time, only
about half of the desktop objects underwent the
"52-pickup" style involuntary re-sort. Even though
every last one of those suckers was locked down !!
Evidently, "Locked in Place" does not necessarily mean
what it says, 'cause they were all still locked
afterwards (!), and I would have had to unlock them to
put them back where they belonged. Fortunately, I did
not need to (see below).

btw, still waiting on your answer re how you managed
to retrofit that (older Warp type) yellow highlight
border around the window that has focus.

Note to Steven:

Tried your suggestion re doing a C-A-D reboot when
this happens. This time it worked. Great. (I could
swear it has not always worked in the past.) I've
committed the current desktop arrangement to a backup
with UniMaint, just in case.
