It is not necessary to remove-uninstall one version of any Mozilla
product to add another. With new versions coming fast - both with and
without major bugs - it is best not to remove one that works until you
have a working replacement. You can have as many versions on the HDD
as you have space for. That usually means one to do actual work and
others to try. That requires only one profile each for SM, FF and TB.
You can have more profiles if you want.

I have had multiple versions of the suite under Win even using the EXE
installer. On OS/2 I currently have four SM, four FF and two TB.

This can all be done with EXE, it is just better controlled with ZIP.
