I have an associate in Berkley who is my Mac resource. Below is the
short answer that I got from to a question from Peter. I am posting
it here because someone else might be interested, and because Peter
says he doesn't always get his personal mail; he said he did not get a
message from me last week.

Situation: A Mac has placed Aiff files on a CD. Those files need to
be transfered to a PC running OS/2 and converted to Wav format.
1. Mac is capable of writing disks that a PC can read; but you may
have to tell it to do so.
2. Aiff and Wav are both non compressed formats. Conversion is trivial.
3. Below is a link to an OS/2 utility for converting Aiff to Wav,
plus some others. I have not investigated the availability of
usefulness of any of the converters listed.
