A number of folks approached me at the meeting this past weekend, asking
me about the progress of the effort to get the AirPrime 5220 working on my
ThinkPad.

We've made quite a bit of progress so far. Much of it hasn't made it to
this list because Steven and I spent a substantial amount of time at last
Wednesday's IRC help desk (and other offline time communicating
otherwise), and there's been offline discussion with Veit Kannegieser in
Germany.

The good news is that with a tremendous amount of help from Steven, and
using Veit's Cardbus enabler utility and PCI IRQ change utility, we've
been able to get eCS to load the USB OHCI controller drivers and see the
OHCI controller. The bad news is that the USB resource monitor still
doesn't see the card.

We're currently hoping to hear back from Veit on some questions regarding
his utilities, and perhaps a next step in getting this card up and
running.

The bad news is also that the card will probably have to be returned
before we succeed because otherwise I'll be locked into a 2-year contract.
I still have some hope that we'll succeed prior to then. In any case, I'm
pretty excited about the progress that we *have* made so far.
