I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to here, but the window
"emulates" to the OS some specified virtual hardware setup. To give an
example, when you configure it, if the virtual hardware had a Cirrus video
chip ( I don't remember the correct virtual hardware), you'd set up the
guest OS to run with a Cirrus chip, and not your real ATI screamer.
