I got a cheap Belkin wireless pcmcia card listed on that web site you
mentioned. It supposedly uses the prism2 chipset and the generic prism
ibmwi2.exe drivers. (The web site said Belkin version 1, and mine has the
same model number but says version 3 -- so that might be a problem).
I don't have my access point yet, so this is just preliminary setup.
I installed my 3com Lan card in the first slot and the Belkin wireless
card in the second slot.
I ran Windows just to be sure the card was OK, and it reported both cards
as functioning normally. The LAN card was assigned IRQ 3 and the wireless
card IRQ 9.
Under OS/2 the drivers for both cards seem to load normally.
PC Card director shows the Lan card, identifies it as I/O and says it has
IRQ 9. The wireless card is shown, but it is listed as a memory card with
no IRQ.
WiFi State utility says Status: no card detected.
I will try these again once I get my wireless access point, but I don't
think this card is working properly. Before I try a different model, is
there something else I can check or try?
Thanks,
Sandy
