What kind of trap? Process trap or kernel trap?

Since this appears to be a process trap within Filestar, you should report
it to Jim Read. He has the data needed to understand what FileStar is
doing at the time of the trap.

To repeat myself. A kernel trap or a process trap? If you don't
understand the difference, you need to ask questions or spend some time
with Google.

Anything is possible, but it's unlikely that the traps are related. The
crystal_off.reg file you alude to updates a key value in the Open32
registry.

Restore \os2\system\system.dat and \os2\system\user.dat from your backups.
