Your welcome.

>1) The audio chip isn't supported by UniAud (AD1985 codec, AC97)
Please verify that the onboard AC97 Audio Controller is enabled in your
bios. Make sure that the speakers are plugged in *correctly* to the
motherboard, the speakers turned on and are receiving power. (I have made
these mistakes)
Programs ==> Multimedia ==> Volume and check that the volume is set at 100
and the mute button is not depressed.
Programs ==> Multimedia ==> Sounds are Enable system sounds *checked* and
the setting is at 70. Why 100 (above) and the one below 70? Don't know -
believe defaults.
Reboot and check. System sounds should work. Note - others have reported
that with Uniaud, MIDI is broken ==> I agree on the ASUS A7N8X
motherboard.
If fails, you may want to try the latest UNIAUD located at:
                http://uniaud.netlabs.org/
And also post your config.sys to the list.
>2) Power-off actually just reboots the machine instead.
Go into the system bios; for my ASUS A7N8X with the Phoenix Award BIOS v
6.00PG:
Advanced tab ==> Power Management Setup ==> Disable ACPI
Suspend to RAM since not currently supported by OS/2. All the settings
under this sub-tab should be DISABLED except:
            a) Video Off Method ==> enabled DPMS Support (for "Green"
monitor support)
            b) PWR button < 4 Secs ==> Soft Off (the only other option is
suspend)

>got rid of eComCenter (the old Warpcenter)? Or is there a way to create
>it?
To add WarpCenter, add "WARPCENTER" to your config.sys so that:
    SET AUTOSTART=PROGRAMS,TASKLIST,FOLDERS
    becomes
    SET AUTOSTART=PROGRAMS,TASKLIST,FOLDERS,WARPCENTER
and reboot.
To prevent eComCenter from starting at bootup:
Local System ==> Startup and remove eCenter from the Startup folder.
FYI - IMO, eComCenter is much more stable than WarpCenter; consider
switching to eComCenter.
Old vs new. Yes I know. Just because something is "old" does not mean
that its "bad" nor "good"; just because something is "new" does not mean
that its "bad" nor "good".
Good luck Gary, let us know how it goes.
Regards.
