Not exactly inspiring, for those of us who have put a lot of faith in CDs as an
archival medium . . . .

I have always thought that buying cheap, no-name media is a false economy, and one apt
to bite you in the hindquarters. (I have many floppies made in the 1980s, the vast
majority of which are still readable. Most have since been transferred to Zip Disk
and from there to CD. Storage and access-wise, a big improvement, but now I'm
wondering about the supposed longevity.) Anyway, I hope we are not using 2nd. or 3rd.
rate media on the SCOUG CDs that are being made _now._
