FWIW...  
I was going to try the latest Testcase kernel & os2loader. Something I  
read mentioned the EARLYMEMINIT=TRUE setting in CONFIG.SYS. I remmed it  
out, and now I can boot without the trap 0008. Uniaud also works and now  
I have sound!
