OK -- it is not the cable. I tried another, working cable, same problem.

Iptrace says it is unable to read the first header.

When I go to check for email, I saw the lan indicator light on the router
blink once.

I tried a different port on the router, but that did not make any
difference.

Other computers hooked to this router connect to the internet fine.

But when I switched to Windows on this computer, it at first refused to
connect to an URL using IE. I checked the settings, it said I was
connected, and then IE came to life and found my URL.

Booting back into OS/2 showed the same problem when DHCP tried looking for
parameters.

Could it be that I corrupted something, resolv perhaps, that is
interfering with my LAN adapter. Should I try reinstalling the lan adapter
drivers?

Thanks,
Sandy
