I've made do with switches. I have one set with 2 computers and 2
printers with a 4-port parallel switch that flips each printer between
the two PCs. Easy if you're near the switch.

I was looking at a device recently that plus into the centronics on a
parallel port printer and into an RG45. Anybody had any
experience with this?
