If you are responding to someone asking for help who
may not be a member of this list, be sure to use the
REPLY TO ALL feature of your email program.

I've been very happy with the AOpen card. If you can get a card with a
Crystal chipset, you will find that the installation documentation is
excellent (it's an ASCII *.txt file). The Crystal installation program
fully removes the prior sound card setup from Warp Multimedia and then
replaces it with the current setup for the new card. Therefore, you
should not have to uninstall MultiMedia and then reinstall it in order
to get a correct setup.

You should also read some info from Tim Tabi:

http://www.tabi.org/timur/crystalos2.html

about sound cards with crystal chipsets and the various nuiances of
OS/2's MultiMedia setup. He also has links to other places.

One difficulty I had was with the OS/2 MultiMedia Application Install
(which you will find in the Install/Remove folder, which is in the
System Setup folder, in the OS/2 System folder). After you select the
new sound card driver files, you have to move the MultiMedia Application
Install window off to the side of the monitor, half visible and half off
the screen. After doing that you can press the button to start the
install. Apparently, there is a bug in this application. If you don't to
this, it will not finish the install?? I found out about this by asking
at an OS/2 internet help website.
