DFSee, which has been presented by Tony Butka at
previous SCOUG general meetings, is now at version 9.02 as of
10/10/2007. It is a FDISK, display, analysis, and recovery tool
for disks and filesystems. It includes the ability to resize FAT
and FAT32 partitions, and has JFS and LVM support. Go to http://www.dfsee.com/dfsee/.

Samba version 3.0.26a has been updated as of
10/18/2007. Provided are both the Samba server, and a client
plugin for the NetDrive filesystem, which supports 64-bit file
I/O with NDFS 3.0 or higher. It allows you to mount SMB or CIFS
shares on OS/2 without the need of NetBIOS (IBM LAN Manager or

SeaMonkey version 1.1.5 has been released as of
10/18/2007. It is a continuation of the Mozilla Suite, which was
discontinued in 2005. Go to

program object accordingly.
- This version requires the GCC runtime; download that at
(a self- extracting executable). The EMX runtime is no longer
required if you don't have it already installed. The GCC
runtime installer defaults to x:\OS2\DLL (where x is your OS/2
or eComStation boot drive); it may be preferable to put the
runtime in the same directory as the SeaMonkey executable.

Eclipse Enabler version 1.1.0 has been released as of
10/03/2007. This package makes it possible to use Eclipse 3.2.2
on OS/2, by using SWTSwing, a Swing implementation of SWT. Go to

10/20/2007. This is a web photo album generator that runs on

VICE (the VersatIle Commodore Emulator) was updated to
version 1.22 a couple of months ago (08/11/2007). It uses DIVE

OpenWatcom version 1.7a RC1 has been released as of
10/06/2007. It is an open-source release of the Watcom C, C++,
and FORTRAN compilers, and has an OS/2 installer. Michal Necasek,
who has presented OpenWatcom at SCOUG general meetings in the
past, has an article describing how to set up an older version,

Whois version 4.7.23 has been released as of
10/14/2007. This is a new whois (RFC 954) client that is
intelligent and can automatically select the appropriate whois

Moneydance 2007r4 build 583 has been released as of
10/19/2007. It is a personal finance manager written completely
in Java. It includes transaction auto-completion, graphing,
reporting, a reconciliation tool, running cleared vs. uncleared
balances, transaction sorting, double-entry, multiple currencies,

PrefBar version 4.0 has been released as of 10/09/2007.
It allows you to configure several Mozilla settings on the fly,

InJoy Firewall version 4.0 has been released as of
10/24/2007. This runs on a computer with an Internet connection
and acts as an Internet Gateway for other computers on your
private LAN. The product is designed for LAN-to-LAN
configurations, including the many new cable modem and DSL
installations. It features: PPP over Ethernet support, support of
the interoperable IPSec VPN standard, NDIS Protocol Engine, NAT
support (RFC 1631-style Network Address Translation), direct
Internet access for your LAN PC's, no reconfiguration on other

RSJ CD Writer version 6.01 has been released a few
months ago (07/27/2007). It has support for DVD writing, freedb,
DAO (Disk At Once), IDE drives, creating bootable CD's, and more.

This is a SMTP proxy, with features designed to prevent spam,

A test version of MPlayer has been released as of
10/28/2007, which has support for WarpOverlay. This is a video
player that supports many codecs. Use search key mplayer on
PM123 version 1.32 RC1 has been released as of
10/24/2007. It is a MP3, WAV, and CD Audio player, which is now
open-source. Some of the features include sharing of the sound
card, playlist with drag/drop support, HTTP streaming, and the
