Subject: SCOUG-Help: How to Use a Printer Attached to a Windows XP Computer in OS/2

Content Type: text/plain

Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

Hello Everyone,
Attached please find a previous E-Mail sent to SCOUG, concerning using an XP printer
in OS/2.

About 1 hour ago I unsuccessfully tried to setup our HP 7130 printer as an OS/2 printer,
using this technique. I got as far as step 3. 'Create a "Emulated Postscript" (EPS) printer
under Windows XP, using the "Printers and Faxes" facility from the Windows "Control
Panel" facility'. The last step involves sending a test print page. That failed. In the
Windows printer window, it appears as if a document is sent to the new Postcript printer
(a 1 momentarily appears under the "documents" column; it quickly disappears,
however, and the printer fails to print anything out).

I'm not sure what I can do to find out what's really occurring and fix it. The Windows
Troubleshooting facility is of no help.
HCM
