Sandy,
For all of your computers to talk to each other you must have the following minimum
setup:

	1.	All the computers have the same workgroup name (XP designation of
this)/domain name (ECS designation)

	2.	All the computers are using the same network protocol for
PEER-to-PEER

On your XP computers you will find the workgroup name as follows:

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Computer Name

On your ECS machine will find the domain name in the IBNLAN.INI file, which should be
located in the IBMLAN directory of your boot drive

I believe that ECS PEER-to-PEER uses either the TCP/IP over NetBEUI protocol or the
NetBEUI protocol. On any one network adapter you have to use one or the other. You
cannot bind both protocols to the same adapter. On ECS use the "Adapters and
Protocols" program (Mult-Protocol Transport Services = MPTS.EXE) to find out what
protocols you have bound to your adapter(s). On XP use "Start -> Settings -> Network
Connections". Right mouse click the icon under "LAN or High Speed Internet" to bring
up a menu. Select properties.

I use NetBEUI, because it is safer relative to intrusion from outside (the Internet).
NetBEUI is a non-routable protocol, which is the biggest reason it's safer from outside
attack. You may have heard of NetBIOS attacks from the Internet. That's the TCP/IP
over NetBEUI protocol being used as a probe and an attack.

XP machines no longer actively support the NetBEUI protocol. However, you can
download and install two (2) files on your XP machines, which will enable them to use
NetBEUI. You can find that information on the Internet by doing a seach, using the
words: "Windows" "XP" and "NetBEUI". The following two (2) sites are examples:

	http://windowsxp.mvps.org/netbeui.htm

	http://www.pchell.com/support/netbeui.shtml

Attached please find a prior E-Mail from Randell Flint with information on setting up your
systems and getting them to talk. Hope this helps.
