I guess I'm with Ray on this one. I was a licensed
user of all the BA versions (for both platforms) right
up until they quit. Haven't really used them since
discontinuing the use of tape for backups -- although
I gather the later versions could use other media,
such as CD {or maybe even DVD ?}. Tape capacities did
not keep up with requirements, and the cost factor on
DAT-4 was ridiculous and stayed that way. I sort of
hoped something else -- like the Iomega REV cartridge,
for example -- would establish itself as both a new
standard *and* something very cost-effective, but that
never happened.
Even with tape, I much preferred the design of
BackMaster . . . .
