Subject: SCOUG-Help: Installing eCS 1.2R

Content Type: text/plain

Well, eCS 1.2R has been installed. There is the standard
eCS screen but it does not look great, so I am not
congratulating myself yet. I spent the whole afternoon
trying to install eCS, initially searching for a place to
enter VGA GRADD. Not finding that, there seemed to be
a problem with some of the parameters. on
1. CONTROLLER: (E)IDE/ATA(PI) Compatibility mode
(Danis506, DaniATAPI)
then
[x]support USB mass storage devices I changed
[0] CD-ROM/-RW drives attached to [1]
[2] Removable drives attached HDD changed to [1]
did this on several attempts. Then at the display driver
I changed it fom SNAP graphics to GENERIC support
and got the following error message:
"the second phase of installation aborted with error code 34...
GENGRADD install failed."
I could not see how to switch to VGA GRADD, so I checked
basic VGA. That finally worked, but as I said the eCS screen
display is barely passable.
