That's not quite try.  An Alt-F2 boot uses \os2\boot\config.x.  You  
probably should make sure it really matches \config.sys.

If this were my problem, I would use ZtBold to delete \Desktop and try the  
sysrestr again.  This might help you figure out why iniclean can not  
delete \Desktop for you.
