Well that is very interesting. 
With one computer connected by wire to my router, I get a download speed 
of 776 kilobits per second. With the laptop connected via the Asus 
pocket-ap to a wireless access point connected to the same router, I get a 
download speed of 25 kilobits per second. 
A ping to www.pcpitstop.com shows a rountrip time of 40 to 50 ms. from 
either computer.
