I am in the process of setting up a 200 GB USB external hard drive to work
under OS/2.
So far I have:
Wiped the beginning of the disk using DFSEE
Created a partition with LVM under OS/2.
Set the partition type using DFSEE.
DFSEE reports the following information:
P-Geo Disk 4 Cyl : 0 H: 0 S:0 Bps:512 Size : 0x00000000 = 0.0
KiB L-Geo Disk 4 Cyl : 24792 H:255 S:63 Bps:512 Size : 0x17BD52D8 =
194474 MiB BIOS Int13 limit : 1024 cylinders, limiting to Size : 8032.5
MiB MBR crc 054b4eb9 : 0xcce185ed = IBM OS/2 LVM or W4 from
FP9, I13X
I now want to create an image of the partition with f32blank.cmd.
I need help identifying the correct data for the following parameters:
FAT32 blanker version 0.1.5 - Usage:
S:sectors H:heads SP:starting point SZ:size
[SN:xxxxxxxx] B:Y|N F:file [Q:Y]
Where the parameters are:
S: hard drive sectors per track
H: hard drive heads
SP: where the FAT32 partition begins, format: number,[x|d][s|c]
SZ: size of the partition, same format as above
"x" stands for "hexadecimal", "d" for "decimal", s for "sectors"
and "c" for cylinders; if none specified, defaults are x & s
B: if the program should merge Win9x bootcode in its output or not
SN: A valid 8 hex digital code for volume serial number
F: a filename for the blanked FAT32 structures to be dumped to
Q:Y if the program should not output anything to the display
I believe that:
S = 63
H = 255
SZ = 194474 MiB
I am not sure what to put for SP and SN.
Can someone tell me what to put or where in DFSEE to look?
Thanks very much,
Sandy
