I left a couple of minutes later than I planned, but nothing out of the
ordinary occurred.

The last zips are dated 1/5/2005. My last message to you on the "next
step" thread was 1/18/2005. Do we lose some messages along the way?

This says nothing about the status of your Peer install. It says a lot
about one of your NIC installs.

You have an "extra" default route definition. Check setup.cmd.

Hard to say what's going on given your explanation. The install is
supposed to remove the code that kicks off this part of the Peer install
from startup.cmd during the install. I have to guess this did not occur.

Let's do the standard drill. Send me copies of:

\config.sys
\startup.cmd (if you have one)
\ibmcom\lantran.log
\ibmcom\protocol.ini
\ibmcom\macs\yournic.nif (yournic is the name of your nic's nif)
\ibmlan\ibmlan.ini (if you have LAN networking installed)
\mptn\bin\setup.cmd
\mptn\etc\dhcpcd.cfg
\mptn\etc\resolv*

and I will have a better idea of what you do and do not have installed.
