I don't happen to know the answer to your question, 
but am I the only one who recalls seeing an impressive 
SCOUG demo by Kim Cheung of a full, bootable OS/2 (eCS 
?) from memory stick | flash drive ?  If this were to 
take place now, instead of a couple years ago, I think 
(hope) I'd now be better able to understand and 
appreciate the significance of this accomplishment, 
and have some better questions to ask about it.  I 
don't believe you can boot W2K or XP in this manner.
