OK. Let me stare at the code and see if I can figure out why you are not
getting a more vebose set of messages.

One thing you can try is to make all the other BASEDEV drivers quiet or at
least not verbose. There a limited amount of message space in the kernal
and your message might be getting thrown away.

Another way to avoid this is to move the USB BASEDEVs closer to the start
of CONFIG.SYS.
