No of the above do this.  SVISTA, VMWare and VPC are all similar in that 
the emulate the bare hardware.

You don't need to install just the OS.  You also need to install the apps.

Odin emulates the Windows software API.  SVISTA emulates the bare

Emulation is a generic term.  One can emulate anything.  See 
http://dict.die.net/emulation/ and elsewhere for the defintion of the 
world.

The type of "running it" your refer to is called emulation.
