Thanks, Steven, I'll give that a try. First, I'd like to get the skinny on that
PCLEAR (?) business, since it may be necessary to undo / redo the LVM data for the C:,
and I sure don't want to make the whole partition go away . . . as happened once
before with a different partition or two.

No doubt. At the moment, it is more in the major-mystery-but-minor-nuisance category,
down quite a few notches from the top of that list.
