Hi Tony,
I sorta stopped tracking the T-series developments after the T-40 came out,
when I decided not to buy a laptop in the near term. At that time, I wrote
to Timothy Sipples, who is or was with IBM for a long time, and has
periodically contributed H/W news items to the VOICE List, particularly as
regards compatibility issues and special sales that may come up. He had
written an article a year or so earlier on the T-30 and eCS. I asked him
if what he wrote in that article would still apply to the T-40. He
answered me that for the most part, the answer would be 'Yes', possibly
excepting a couple items like the modem. {The prospects for using it with
eCS were rather good, though not effortless.} I don't know what further
changes since the T-40 may be represented in the T-41 and T-42. As I'm
sure you know, there are quite a few customized configurations of these
than can be ordered, depending on one's interest and the extent of one's
budget. Anyway, I found Sipples to be quite approachable and helpful. His
email address is buried in any of his communiques to the VOICE list, or I
can locate it for you. As a matter of continuing curiosity, I too would
welcome the update, vis-a-vis these latest models.
HTH.
