Is the Realtek chipset onboard?
This box has a RealTek ALC655, built-in and it's not terribly impressive,
even given my lousy hearing.
I often hear (no pun intended) that the SB Live cards are about the best.
This it was Jerry Rash tends to use, along with TMidity to provide MIDI
support.
