I am making progress getting my notebook to run wireless, but still no
cigar.
I found a wireless lan card that works in my Thinkpad 600E under the ibm
wifi software.
The card is recognized during boot up. There is no DHCP error.
Card Director shows the card in and ready at IRQ 9.
Wifi Status shows:
Status: Connected to ESS (green bar).
SSID: WLan @ 2 MBit/s
But when I try to access email or the internet, there is no connection.
I edited the configuration file under mpts and changed the network name to
ANY.
If I replace the wireless card with my LAN card and do a direct cable
connection to my router, everything works normally. The connection cable
is the same one I use to connect the wireless access point to the router
when I use the wireless card. (I hope that doesn't sound confusing).
Could there be some configuration issue here? What is the best way to
trouble shoot this?
Thanks,
Sandy
