O.K. That reminds me of a relevant issue. On the Dark Side, the (very
necessary) Unmount USB Devices is quite straightforward, handled by a menu
that comes up from clicking on an icon in the Systray. The equivalent of this
on OUR side is unclear to me and seemingly not well publicized. I see no
"Remove USB Device" option at the eCS USB Hardware Resource Mgr. -- just a
couple command line util.s, such as EJECT.EXE. From my observations while
using USB on the Dark Side, failing to explicitly dismiss (dismount) a USB
*recording* device can have very bad consequences. For example, when I did
not do this properly, floppies from a USB external fdd attached to a laptop
became trashed and their contents unrecoverable. Don't want to see that occur
in eCS. Yes, I could comb thru some faqs on that USB website in Belgium (?),
but I'm sure someone here could tell me the proper procedure in a couple of
brief sentences.
I'd also like to see a Yea or Nay recap on something I think Ray or possibly
others have mentioned. Namely, that in order to avoid EA.SF getting written
to things a CF card or flash drive -- and thereby *ruining* it for Windoze, at
least until a reformat was performed -- the best idea was to steer clear of
the WPS, and only write to the card or drive using the Command Line. True or
False ? And if the former, what about the use of VIO app.s like ZTRee ?
