I finally have jSyncManager (V 3.0) running on my main system talking to
my Palm VIIx. This is under eCS 1.14 with java:

java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1)
Classic VM (build 1.3.1, J2RE 1.3.1 IBM build co131-20020710 (JIT
enabled: jitc)
)

I am also trying to get it working on my second system running eCS 1.2
and Innotek java 1.4.2_05, but it is NOT working! This system was
recently installed with the default java 1.1.8. At a later time, I
installed the Innotek java 1.4.2_05 version, but left the 1.1.8 in
place, both on the HD and in CONFIG.SYS. I also installed the JAVA
Communications API: 11-18-04 117,696 javacomm_130.zip
which contains: 8-10-01 4:37p 45,865 ibmcomm.dll, etc.

When I attempt to run the jSyncManager communications test I get the
following (somewhat scrambled) result:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
[G:\jsyncmanager]f:\programs\java142\bin\java -jar jsyncmanager.jar
--comm-api-test

     Testing for detectable serial ports.........................FAILED!

The Java Communications API reports that no serial ports exist on your
system.
This fault can be caused by your BIOS serial port settings, your operating
systems serial device driver settings, or a missing or misconfigured Java
Communication API properties file. Please ensure that your system has its
serial ports enabled, your operating system is configured to use these
ports,
and that the Java Communications API is correctly installed, and try again.

I KNOW that there is nothing wrong with my serial ports on this machine
because 1) the MODE command works, and 2) I can sync just fine from the
dark side. The java error, however, is totally foreign to me.

Steven, or anyone else, can you help me figure this out?

Thanks!
