"Card services" and "socket services" are new terms for me. Near as I
can tell from some search results, Socket Services is the underlying
software control for any PCMCIA card and Card Services uses Socket
Services to communicate with whatever card is plugged in. Near as I can
figure from *that* is that Socket Services manages the PCMCIA socket
into which you plug something, and Card Services talks to the thing
which you plug in and figures out what it is. Of course, my figuring
might be entirely wrong on this.
