OK. As I mentioned, at the meeting the versions that work with Java 1.3.1
are:

8-10-01 7:37 45,865 54 ibmcomm.dll
8-10-01 16:37 48,752 0 comm.jar

Since you are trying to just jSyncManager with InnoTek's 1.4, there are a
several things to consider many related to the fact that you are using a
Windows app. ;-)

First you need to make sure that the Java runtime can find the comm.jar
and ibmcomm.dll. The v1.4 directory structure varies somewhat from the
v1.3 structure.

If this does not resolve the problem, it's possible that you need to use
the win32 version of JavaComm since v1.4 is a win32 app.

You download the win32 version at:

http://java.sun.com/products/javacomm/

> Do you have a local loopback adapter (Y/N)? n
> Searching for Java Comm API classes.........................Caught
>java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/ibm/comm while loading driver
>com.ibm.comm.OS2CommDriver

Since the comm driver did not load, it is entirely expected that
jSyncManager can not see the com ports. The effect is no different than
REM'ing out com.sys in config.sys.

You might be able to get some better debug info with the -verbose or
-verbose:jni java startup option.

HTH,

Steven
