It makes possible shell processing of the archiving functions, under the aegis  
of some other program, such as ZTree or FM/2.  If you ever see a menu item in  
your xyz program that lets you switch between Zip, PKZip, Arj, RAR, etc., for  
archive / de-archive purposes (and "xyz" program is not itself a multi-mode  
archiver program), then ARCHIVER.BB2 is most likely what is making this  
possible.
