Can you post a DIR of the .zip file you are using and the lines from  
your command window beginning with the "C:>unzip . . ." line so we can  
see what the never-ending-extraction looks like?  You may have to use  
MODE 80,... to add a few lines to the window size (you can use  
RightMouseButton -> Font Size to make the font smaller so more lines  
will fit on your screen).  (To capture the screen lines, just hold down  
the LeftMouseButton and drag over the lines you want, then  
RightMouseButton -> Copy.)  
 
Also, can you try something?  Try running your copy of zip and creating  
a .zip file of some small test file, and then try unzipping it with  
unzip 5.50.
