I'm not running at 1.1.4 level yet. However, I'm sure such video problems can occur. The OPERA / 2 browser had some fatal problem with the Matrox drivers on my desktop system, and would quickly crash everything down to a blinking multi-color checkerboard,
requiring a Reset. That is an exceptionally bad crash, taking the whole os down. Opera was only a tryout, and something I did not need, so I ditched it. You may wish to experiment with other SNAP or SNAP SE versions, of which there have been several.
