Thank you Steven, you triggered the right memory cells.

My mistake was I booted the CD with the hope it would actually install
and run. There have been a lot of improvements, right, everything
should work now? I haven't paid much attention to the way W4 creates
config.sys but it seems it knew better than to put networkstation before
netbios. At least by now eCS should know better.

Second, my best efforts so far have not gotten USB and the NET to work
at the same time. If I set up a camera as a disk I lost the NET. I'll
try replacing the USB stuff and try that again.

So, I treated eCS like W4. Right after install, sort config.sys and rem
all the USB. I left networkstation loading early to see if anything had
changed. Nope, still had to move it.

I also replaced os2dasd with danidasd. I has been a very long time
since I have been able to get a box to run with os2dasd.
