I already have an ALTF2ON.$$$ in the root. As I said earlier, I put
PAUSE.SYS at the end of my CONFIG.SYS, and it's the last thing that
shows up during the boot process except for the flash of ??? just
prior to the dump.

I haven't tried going back to one of the archives yet.
The latest WPS archive is from 2004/04/03.

I also have ROBOSAVE files as late as 2004/04/18 and
UniMaint as late as 2004/04/27. That would probably be the first one to
try.

That said, I have never used one of the UniMaint backups, so some RTFM
will be in order there. I will experiment with the backups tomorrow when
I am a bit more awake than I am now. No use further farkling the
situation by fooling about late at night!
