I have been using OS/2 for so long I have forgotten my DOS roots.
I wanted to try installing my LAN adapter under DOS 5.0 just as a backup
if I can't get Winos2 internet connection running successfully.
I added the following files to the root directory of the C: drive:
el90x.dos
el90xids.nif
protocol.ini
I then added a line to config.sys:
device=el90x.dos
During boot up, the 3com driver is recognized, but then I get an error
message: "Unable to access protocol manager -- driver not installed."
I probably need to add something to config.sys or autoexec.bat, but so far
I haven't figured it out. The install utility that came with the 3com
driver doesn't seem to work.
I just wondered if anyone remembers how to do this.
Thanks,
Sandy
