Sounds like a re-install. That's not too bad a deal, though, IF you have
your profile(s) in a separate directory and the following or something
similar in CONFIG.SYS:
SET MOZILLA_HOME=x:\
SET MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH=x:\Mozilla\Plugins
Everything that Mozilla puts in x:\Mozilla\Profiles or
x:\Mozilla\Plugins should go in these directories. In my system, for
instance, the actual Mozilla programs go into G:\Mozilla1_7a. I also
have g:\Mozilla1_6a and G:\Mozilla1_6. I can run any of the three, and
they will all use the profiles from Mozilla_home.
I can install any version of Mozilla that I want (within reason), and it
will use the same profile and plugins.
As always, have a backup!
