Tony,

Regarding the ASUS A7N8X 2.0 motherboard, I have installed eCS 1.1 on the
deluxe and subsequently the non-deluxe version via the advanced install.
Note no SCSI nor SATA. Using DVD-ROM/CDR-RW with both motherboards. No
audio installed.

(1) eCS 1.1 base install fails (at least for me with DANI drivers -
performance or compatability mode); eCS 1.1 base install *succeeds* with
IBM drivers (performance mode) - I did not test IBM drivers in
compatability mode.

After installation, I then manually REMed the appropriate IBM drivers and
installed daniatapi.flt from daniatapi0314.zip and danis506.add from
danis506r167.add and the box reboots and appears to be stable; no switches
yet.

(2) SIO 2.00 - the known traps/lockups; during the eCS 1.1 install, I
would install IBM's com.sys rather than SIO 2.00. After the eCS 1.1
install, I tried SIO 2.03 Professional on the ASUS A7N8X 2.0 Deluxe with
occasional lockups of the system; also install.cmd of SIO 2.03
Professional fails so I had to manually install. After installing SIO
2.03 Professional, various traps will occur unless I REM out the
"device=x:\sio2k\vsio2k.sys ...." in config.sys.

Bottom line - I am just using IBM's com.sys.

(3) allow the eCS 1.1 install to manage the USB selections.

HTH

Larry

PS - I plan to install on a new box (building next week) with DVD-R/RW,
Windows and then eCS 1.1 on an ASUS A7N8X 2.0 deluxe motherboard; if you
have any specific situation you wish me to test, let me know. FWIW, the
eCS 1.1 will be used to backup the data for my home network on the other
boxes to DVD - in theory..... --
