OK so I have put another day on this project and will have more to
report later on what we did to get the 600E going even to where it
is now.
Right now there are two problems on the critical path to success.
Installed with TCPIP and NETBIOS. Didn't need the latter but
Roderick Klein said to put it in anyway.
I can complete Phase 3 of the install and have an almost-working
machine, except for the MOST IMPORTANT ACCESSORY: my 3Com Etherlink
III NIC.
If installed, I get a TRAP 000e at RDRHELP during boot. I remmed out
the related line in the CONFIG.SYS file and now I get all the way to
the desktop, a few moments after which I get TRAP 000d at ELPC3X.
Roderick warned this might be a timing issue with the 3Com driver so
I have installed Steves 3C589PAT patch. Still traps.
Ideas please?
Jeffrey Race
