Hello to All,

I had not picked up mail on my desktop system (where all the mail accounts=

are) since Fri=2E afternoon=2E I did so just now, and was in the process =
of
reading Peter's rough draft on that article=2E (Peter, I'm amazed you did=
so
much so fast=2E) Yes, there are several corrections I could make=2E Befo=
re I
had quite finished reading it, the boot hard drive began making a
disturbing on-again, off-again, pitch-changing whine sort of noise=2E The=
n
Netscape went down=2E Then Warp went down=2E I tried to boot the system =
up
again, but got only a Trap 00D=2E (I wrote some of it down, but I'm
guessing that won't matter much=2E) Possibly this is something heat-relat=
ed,
or another SCSI cable or connector issue=2E One connector of the three o=
n
this cable went bad a year or so ago=2E If I'm really unlucky, and it is =
the
hard drive, then I'm screwed, because I just never got around to cloning
that drive, and have been very negligent about backing up partition images=

for quite awhile now=2E

Anyway, if you don't hear back from me anytime soon, that is why=2E All o=
f
my mail is on that hard drive=2E Talk about your really bad timing=2E I'=
m
really not looking forward to opening that tower up for some surgical
intervention, and it is doubtful I will even have a chance to do that for
more than a week=2E So, Peter, I hope you don't mind sitting on that arti=
cle
for awhile=2E The only alternative might be to fax me a copy of the draft=
,
and we could discuss it over the phone=2E But even that may not be practi=
cal
until around the end of the month=2E=20

In the meantime, I can check mail occasionally via this service, MAIL2WEB,=

but it is VERY slow, and I can't be certain that what I send will get
through to a subscription list, rather than bounce=2E Your individual ema=
il
addresses in my address book are not available to me now either=2E
