I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get a DVD-burner to work
under OS/2. It is a major brand (Pioneer) but not on the list of those
explicitly supported by IBM | OS/2. You might well do yourself a favor by
getting one that **is** mentioned as being supported by OS/2, such as the
Sony DRU-500. (I probably would not go back and make the change anyway,
because, for a lot of what I want to do, the app.s & tools only exist in that
_other_ platform, which has no problem with most anything you happen to buy.)
Where is the list of which I speak ? I've been pouring over so much
documentation this weekend, over and over again, that I no longer recall.
But it was probably in the Docs for some of the following: DANIATAPI, RSJ
(the commercial CD & DVD burning program), OS2CDROM, or ______ (?) One of
the needed drivers, I think. RSJ has its own supported hardware issues, but
they may be more pliable than the whole driver mess.
