It can.  Depends on what else is loaded.  One can always run SERVREXX if 
nothing else has started the REXX subsystem. 
Of course, pause does not need REXX.

That's why I typically use 4OS2.  The syntax is a bit odd at times because 
it tries to be cmd.exe compatible.  If you don't specially need REXX's 
string handling, 4OS2 is usually faster and easier to code.
