Yeah, I thought about that.  A big disincentive, when considering adding  
any nice aftermarket hardware.  During the years I drove a Jetta (and did  
not have secured parking), I lost 4 car windows, 3 radios, and the odd  
ruined door lock.  (The mismatched 4th. time was when some total MORON did  
not even bother to look in the window to see the HUGE GAPING HOLE in the  
dash where the radio had been ripped out weeks earlier !  Ooops, I busted  
in here for nuthin', uh-huh, uh-huh.)  There was something about that Jetta  
dash that just screamed "Carve Into Me !" to these degenerate hypes and  
glue-sniffers.  The worst part is all the tiny slivers of glass you keep  
finding, long afterwards, no matter how many times you go over every square  
inch with a shop vac.  
 
All I have to say is, do your stereo hunting at Frys.  Otherwise, duck  
hunting season opens early.
