Bob,  
There should be a folder called, "Local System", on your desktop. Open it and you   
should see a folder, "Install/Remove" there. If your LAN Services have not been   
installed, go inside that folder and I believe that you can install it from there. However, I   
don't know if you use the "LAN Services Installation and Configuration" application to   
install it (inside "Install/Remove"), or the "Selective Install".  
 
But before you do any of that, go to the "System Setup" folder. You will find it inside the   
"Local System" folder, which is on your desktop. Inside "System Setup" you will find a   
"Network" folder. Open that and then open "Adapters and Protocols" inside of that. That   
application will tell you whether or not you have your NIC installed, and if so, what   
protocols and drivers are attached to it. I'm betting the ECS installed your NIC during   
your installing of ECS.
