Oh you mean the Desktop archives generated by the builtin archive tool.

I'm not sure what you can do with this. The index data is stored in two
places: \OS2\ARCHIVE\ARCHIVE.$$$ and \OS2\BOOT\ALTF1MID.SCR. The former
is binary and I don't know its format and I don't know exactly what
controls what.

Best thing I can suggest is search the web are tools to control the
Desktop backup. There are a couple. And play with the Archive page of
the Desktop properties notebook and see what effect this has on these two
files.
